Genuine Leather is a sustainable product, as a by-product of the agricultural world, which can last a lifetime. Real leather is easy to maintain and never delaminates like synthetics. As a natural, breathable material each hide is unique, improving with age, producing an exceptional patina.

Also known as bridle or saddle leather, the hides are naturally stiff, so no need for linings. This leather has a smooth finish, waxed and dyed for a rich, glossy appearance. As it becomes more pliable and produces an aged patina over time, this is the longest-lasting of the leathers.

External Materials

Sometimes referred to as bonded or ground leather, buffalo leather is supremely environmentally friendly, both in its production method as well as its ability to withstand constant use. Made from 80% genuine leather fibres, waste retrieved from taneries, buffalo bonded leather helps to reduce waste without compromising on the look, smell and feel so often associated with premium hide products.

A cost effective alternative to top grain leather, buffalo bonded leather is soft, sumptuous and incredibly strong. Stronger than some alternatives, and comes in a range of colours, making it versatile and suitable for use in any setting. Our collection includes 20 popular stock colours and the additional option to have a Pantone colour match to align seamlessly with your brand.

With the exception of our wood designs, all Tudor Jones premium leather goods can be created in buffalo leather. We include a hardy protective laminate as standard, making it a smart and sustainable choice for items placed in high traffic areas, such as bar surfaces and guest rooms. It is a popular choice for items including menu covers, bill folders, key fobs, door hangers, blotters and bins which must stand up to the rigours of frequent use while maintaining a high end appearance.

Textures include leather grained, smooth fine, and alligator patterns, with optional triple lamination.

Linens are suitable for linings only. Choose a light cotton fabric with two tone colour effect or a rugged, natural appearance.

Suitable for linings and boxes. Choose an authentic imitation leather with smooth or deep graining, from the Skivertex® range. The acrylic-coated, latex-saturated paper is free from harmful plasticisers and heavy metals, FSC™ certified (FSC-C007992) and REACH compliant.
